FC Porto will restart renovation work at the Estádio do Dragão after the 2025/26 season as the club pushes ahead with a multi-summer modernisation programme tied to premium seating growth and wider digital upgrades.
FC Porto say renovation work at the Estádio do Dragão will resume this summer once the 2025/26 campaign has finished, with the second phase of a staged upgrade again centred on infrastructure, services and technology. The club is positioning the project as a fan-experience play and part of its long-term venue strategy, including preparations linked to Portugal’s 2030 World Cup plans and the stadium’s ability to support non-football events.FC Porto said: “Despite regular maintenance, the time has come for a complete roof replacement.”Work began during the previous pre-season and has already delivered a new ticketing solution, implemented a new lighting system, and refurbished corporate boxes and hospitality areas. The club has also upgraded its food-and-beverage operation through the installation of a central kitchen and several satellite kitchens, with further changes planned as the modernisation moves into its next phase.FC Porto plan to increase the number of hospitality seats and expand autonomous bars using AiFi technology, which is designed to enable purchases without queues for ordering or payment, as part of efforts to improve matchday service.FC Porto said it will seek to minimise the impact of the summer works and will define solutions for season ticket holders, adding that affected members will keep their season tickets and will be updated via the club’s official channels.
