FOX renews Concacaf club rights in Mexico through 2030
Editor briefFOX will remain the Mexican broadcast home of Concacaf’s leading men’s club competitions through 2030 after extending its rights agreement for another four years.
FOX Latin America has extended its broadcast partnership with Concacaf for a further four years, keeping the media group as the Mexican rights holder for the Concacaf Champions Cup, Concacaf Central American Cup and Concacaf Caribbean Cup through 2030.The renewal covers the 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030 editions of the competitions and strengthens FOX’s position in a market where cross-border club football has significant audience appeal, particularly through the continued rivalry between Liga MX and Major League Soccer (MLS) teams in the Champions Cup.Concacaf said the competitions will be shown across FOX pay-TV channels and FOX+, as well as on direct-to-consumer platform FOX One, giving the broadcaster a multi-platform route to distribute one of the confederation’s most valuable club properties in Mexico. The agreement keeps FOX aligned with a rights package that includes the confederation’s top men’s club tournament as well as the two regional cups that feed into it. Concacaf positions that structure as central to the development of club football across Central America and the Caribbean, while also using it to build the pathway into its flagship Champions Cup competition.Luis Maldonado, Vice President of Programming and Marketing at FOX Mexico, said: “This renewal with Concacaf reflects a shared vision to drive the growth and international profile of soccer in our region. "At FOX, we are proud to remain the home of these competitions, bringing top-tier coverage to millions of fans in Mexico. Our commitment is to continue strengthening our offering with international club tournaments.”Concacaf General Secretary Philippe Moggio said: “The extension of our partnership with FOX reaffirms the strength of Concacaf’s club ecosystem and the value of having a strategic partner with extensive experience in the Mexican market.“The Concacaf Champions Cup represents the highest expression of club football in our Confederation, while the Concacaf Central American Cup and the Concacaf Caribbean Cup are fundamental pillars of the development of our club football, and the pathway to the Champions Cup.“Through FOX, we have a powerful platform to showcase our clubs on the global stage and bring these competitions closer to millions of fans throughout Mexico.”The deal underlines the importance of Mexico in Concacaf’s media strategy, with the confederation leaning on established domestic distribution to maximise reach and commercial value around club competitions that also serve as qualification routes into FIFA’s Club World Cup and Intercontinental Cup structures. It also reinforces the continued appeal of regional football inventory for broadcasters seeking live rights with regular scheduling, established fan interest and a clear connection to wider international competitions.
