LaLiga president Javier Tebas has said Morocco is a realistic candidate to host official LaLiga matches, signalling a renewed push to take Spain’s top flight beyond its domestic borders as the league looks for incremental growth in media, sponsorship and fan engagement.Tebas said Casablanca is being discussed as a potential host city, citing strong demand for Spanish football in Morocco and the relative ease of travel between the two countries.The comments underline LaLiga’s strategy of using occasional overseas fixtures as a high-impact marketing lever, designed to deepen audience attachment in key territories and create new inventory for partners.Tebas said: “It is possible that some LaLiga matches could be held in Morocco, specifically in Casablanca.“Given the enormous number of LaLiga followers in Morocco, this is very possible, especially since the logistical obstacles related to travel remain very minimal. We also welcome the idea of playing a match in Casablanca’s new stadium.
