Macron launch legal action in Blackburn Rovers kit dispute

Italian kit manufacturers Macron are suing Championship strugglers Blackburn Rovers due to a contractual dispute.

Blackburn Rovers are facing a court claim from their technical kit supplier Macron in a contractual dispute, with the Championship club confirming legal proceedings are under way. A report on the case said the claim alleges breach of contract and steps have been taken to have the matter heard in the King’s Bench Division of the High Court. Blackburn Rovers said: “We confirm that the club has been served with court papers by its technical kit supplier, Macron S.p.A., in relation to a contractual dispute. The claim is being handled by the club with the support of its legal team and it would be inappropriate to comment further while legal proceedings are ongoing.” Macron declined to provide further detail when approached for comment but a spokesperson said: “We acknowledge receipt of your request. However, we are unable to offer any comment in relation to the matter.” Macron are in the final year of a five-season agreement to supply Blackburn Rovers, with the dispute emerging during the club’s 150th anniversary season.
