A lack of Jupiler Pro League football content led to Orange Belgium losing 1.5% of its revenue in 2025.

Orange Belgium’s revenue fell 1.5% in 2025 to €1.96bn after the operator stopped offering Belgian top-flight football on its platforms and faced continued pressure from changing customer behaviour in messaging and brand mix.Orange lost the Jupiler Pro League option last summer after failing to reach an agreement with DAZN, the holder of the Belgian football rights, to distribute the league. The company said the change reduced income linked to customers who had previously activated the football add-on.Chief executive Xavier Pichon said the end of the football arrangement did not trigger customer churn, arguing that consumers had no clear alternative because other major operators were also without a distribution agreement. “Customers interested in this product did not switch to competitors,” Pichon said.Pichon also said Orange turned down DAZN’s terms to protect profitability, describing the TV rights as unsustainable unless the cost was paid directly by the customers who wanted the product rather than being spread across the wider base.Despite the revenue decline, Orange reported improved profitability, with its chief financial officer Antoine Chouc saying: “Despite some pressure in our revenue, due to market competition and the non-renewal of the Belgian football rights, we achieved a solid EBITDAaL growth.”
