Palmeiras are set to invest heavily in women's football after winning the Women's Supercup with victory over Corinthians on penalties.

Palmeiras have set aside about R$23 million for women’s football in 2026 as the club push towards opening a dedicated centre of excellence, with the investment plans landing in the same week they won the ‘Supercopa Feminina’ by beating Corinthians on penalties.Palmeiras lifted the trophy last Saturday )February 7) at Arena Barueri after a 1–1 draw in normal time. Bia Zaneratto scored Palmeiras’ equaliser, and goalkeeper Kate Tapia went on to save three penalties as Palmeiras won the shootout 5–4 to claim the title.CBF president Samir Xaud attended the final and used the occasion to underline the federation’s push to grow the women’s game. He said: “We have to treat women’s football well.”Palmeiras’ 2026 plan includes a women’s football centre of excellence in Vinhedo, in the interior of São Paulo state, with the building described as close to completion. The project has been positioned as a dedicated base for the women’s department, with medical and performance facilities designed to mirror elite standards already in place elsewhere at the club.Plans for the Vinhedo site include gym and recovery areas, treatment rooms and spaces for staff operations, as well as dorm rooms and an auditorium. The wider idea is to give the women’s programme a single home for training, sports science and day-to-day performance work, rather than relying on shared facilities.Funding for the project has been linked to the club’s record sale of forward Amanda Gutierres in 2025, a deal reported at around US$1.1 million plus add-ons, with Palmeiras allocating part of that income towards the build and equipment for the new facility. The investment is also a signal of intent in a Brazilian women’s football market that is becoming more competitive and more professionalised. Palmeiras have built a recent record of silverware in the women’s game, and the club have framed the infrastructure plan as a way to sustain performance across a packed calendar that includes domestic competitions and continental commitments. With the Supercopa now secured, Palmeiras turn quickly to their domestic schedule, with the club’s women’s team set to open their league campaign next week.
