Standard Bank has agreed a landmark partnership with the South African Football Association that will make the bank an official partner of South Africa’s senior men’s and women’s national teams and broader development structures from 2026.
Standard Bank has struck a new partnership with the South African Football Association (SAFA) that will see the bank become an official partner supporting Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana and South Africa’s national-team development structures from 2026.The agreement links Africa’s largest bank by assets with SAFA at a moment of heightened international focus, with Bafana Bafana heading towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Banyana Banyana preparing for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.SAFA president Dr Danny Jordaan positioned the deal as a strategic boost for the national set-up and the wider player pathway.Dr Jordaan said: “This partnership reflects the kind of investment that South African football needs. Standard Bank’s support will strengthen the competitiveness of our national teams and development structures as they represent our country on the continental and world stage.”Standard Bank South Africa chief executive David Hodnett said the sponsorship aligned with the bank’s domestic footprint and the sport’s cultural reach.David Hodnett said: “For Standard Bank, the sponsorship is a natural extension of our commitment to South Africa.
