Tottenham Hotspur have been accused of selectively editing the minutes of a recent meeting with supporters, prompting frustration from those who attended.

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust has published minutes from its recent meeting with the club, saying it held extended discussions with the club over what could be included and releasing additional paragraphs it said were left out of the final agreed record. The meeting at Lilywhite House took place under the memorandum of understanding between THST and the club and covered fan sentiment, football performance and governance issues, with THST saying it wanted supporters to be able to see “what issues are being raised with the Club, how those issues are being discussed and what responses are being given.”THST said it also wanted the minutes to include a section capturing the mood among supporters, including concerns about results and direction. In the paragraphs it published as omitted, THST wrote: “Fans are concerned at the current position and the direction of the club. The team is not winning, and change is not visible. "Having watched just four home league wins in a year, this anxiety and pessimism is not surprising. Fans are genuinely concerned at the risk of relegation. The belief generated by the Europa League win has now been lost.“Fans are concerned at a perceived lack of ambition and at results, performances and the failure to strengthen the team despite injuries to key first team players."As a democratic supporters' organisation elected to represent fans' views, we believe it is vital that supporters can see what issues are being raised with the club, how those issues are being discussed and what responses are being given," THST said."Publishing a full record of the points raised helps ensure accountability and allows members, and the wider fan base, to understand how the Trust is fulfilling its role on their behalf."Transparency is integral to our role and in our dealings with the club."The trust also said a line stating “The Club welcomed the input of THST” was not included in the published version, and said it had asked to see the KPIs behind the club’s strategic principles, arguing those measures would show whether priorities were centred on trophies or broader targets such as European qualification.
