Tottenham fined by UEFA over Nazi salutes – three fans banned indefinitely

UEFA have fined Tottenham and imposed a suspended away-ticket sales ban after three supporters made Nazi salutes during the club’s Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.
UEFA have fined Tottenham Hotspur €30,000 after supporters were found guilty of “racist or discriminatory behaviour” during the club’s Champions League away match at Eintracht Frankfurt in January.UEFA also imposed a one-match ban on Tottenham selling tickets to away fans in UEFA competition, but suspended it for a one-year probationary period. An additional €2,250 fine was issued for the throwing of objects.Tottenham confirmed three individuals were identified and banned indefinitely under the club’s sanctions policy, following what it described as conduct at the Frankfurt fixture.Tottenham said: “The Club has been informed of sanctions handed down to us by UEFA following the utterly abhorrent conduct of a small number of individuals at our recent Champions League away match in Frankfurt.“The Club has cooperated fully with UEFA's investigation, as well as with German police on the night and, subsequently, the Met Police.“We can confirm that all three individuals found to be making Nazi salutes towards Eintracht Frankfurt fans have been identified and have received indefinite bans under the Club’s Sanctions and Banning Policy.“The Club stands firmly against all forms of discrimination and has therefore taken the strongest possible action.“The disgusting behaviour of a minority of so-called fans on the night is in no way reflective of the values of our Club and its supporters.”Tottenham are due to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16 later this month.
